Two for two!

Well, I had a week off as we went on a school trip, and I came home to a rejection packet. I'm two for two in about two weeks.
Bummer!
But I'm getting another story ready to go and will keep plodding on.
In the meantime, I'll sit back and remember the week I had. My sister in law and her mom and I were part of a team of chaperones who took some kids on a school trip. The bus broke down a few miles into our trip, and we had to entertain the kids for 4 1/2 hours. But they were all wound up and excited about the whole idea, and my own son got innovative and laid out on the parking lot beside the bus, his jacket with the plaid lining facing up, and with some money he borrowed, played checkers with another student. I ran to get a picture but he'd packed it all up by the time I got there.
That night, we stayed in hunting lodges which were a bit chilly. My SIL said, as she watched her mother make a fire in the wood stove, "There'll be no pussy-footing around tonight. I'm stoking the fire."
By 1 am, we were all roasting, and I walked into the center area of the lodge and got hit square on by the heat. I checked on my SIL, and found her latest face lift melting on the bed. She baked her own mother in that furnace that night, and we had to scrape her off the bed the next morning with a spatula we borrowed from the kitchen lodge.
She wasn't allowed near the fire the next night.
So it's great stuff like that I'm remembering instead of the yucky rejection. And I'll just keep on writing and submitting, as all writers should do!
